At JOSE RAFAEL, we are passionate about our coffee. We promote SUSTAINABILITY AND SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY without compromising on QUALITY.

We carefully source our products. You will be pleased to note that our coffees are at least one of the following; Organic, Rainforest Alliance, Fairtrade or Forest Friendly. These helps make a difference in the coffee farmer’s life.

Great service is our practice and fresh, quality coffee our business. A cozy and friendly place where you can enjoy fresh specialty coffees; special blends and single origins. The atmosphere is relax, warm and inviting – painted in cream and warm colors circle the espresso lounge room; the Novo Simonelli espresso machine – coffee machine at it’s best; freshly roasted coffee beans in our in-house coffee roaster, a really good coffee bar must have to ensure coffee freshness; a selection of international pure Ceylon (Royal Ceylon) teas and drinking (dark organic) xocolat; fresh and simple food; the outdoor room with two real coffee trees earns raves; and for lap toppers, there’s free Wi-Fi internet access

JOSE RAFAEL fine coffee is a coffeehouse or coffee shop and not a café. According to Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coffeehouse) A coffee shop is an establishment which primarily serves prepared coffee or other hot beverages. It shares some of the characteristics of a bar, and some of the characteristics of a restaurant, but it is different from a cafeteria. As the name suggests, coffee shop focus on providing coffee and tea as well as light snacks.

This differs from a café, which is an informal restaurant, offering a range of hot meals, and possibly being licensed to serve alcohol.

From a cultural standpoint, coffee shops largely serve as centers of social interaction: the coffee shop provides social members with a place to congregate, talk, write, read, entertain one another, or pass the time, whether individually or in small groups.

  • We ground our coffee on demand; not filling the coffee hopper with coffee beans and grind just enough beans to make the per order

    Reduce

    • Offer Php 10.00 discount for every cup or food container brought in by the customers (on take-out orders only).
    • Avoid non recyclable containers and plastics where possible
    • We have sugar jars instead of sugar sachets

    Reuse

    • No paper towels or electric hand dryer, instead we use all white cotton hand towel.
    • Find innovative ways to reuse containers or packaging; e.g. recycle coffee bean bags to shoulder bags.

    Recycle

    • Follow strict recycling practice.
  2. When selecting green beans to serve as single origin coffees (unblended) or to feature in our blends, we look first and foremost for quality, and then will commit using that bean if it is at least one of the following; Fairtrade, Rainforest Alliance, Organic or Forest Friendly.
  3. We use organic, biodynamic and ethical produce where possible.

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

  • Supporting Fair-trade, Rainforest Alliance, Organic or Forest Friendly help makes the coffee farmer’s life better; they get a better price for their crop and get to send their children to school.
  • Support community programs that promotes family unity and education
  • Use & buy local products, ingredients and produce in season where possible. This helps the local business community, in turn helps us to offer our customers with high quality more nutritious food and better value for money.
